Einstein Never Abandoned the Ricci Tensor: A Challenge to the Standard Narrative

The standard story goes like this: Einstein, having explored the Ricci tensor and the November tensor in his Zurich notebook, abandoned them in 1913 outright in favor of the non-covariant "Entwurf" field equations—a move John Stachel famously summed up as “falling into the Entwurf trap.” But what if that story is misleading?
In this video, I challenge the conventional view and argue that Einstein never fully let go of the November tensor. Beneath the surface of the "Entwurf" theory, traces of the November framework persist—suggesting a more complex and continuous evolution in Einstein’s path to general relativity than most accounts allow.
