In 1913, Padre Pio shared a letter describing a vision of Jesus that left him deeply shaken. Jesus speaks with sorrow about empty churches, sacrilegious communions, and the indifference of souls—even among His priests. “Hardly anyone speaks of this sacrament,” He says, “and even those who do, speak alas, with great indifference… My heart is forgotten.” These words, written more than a century ago, remain piercingly relevant. The Sacred Heart still suffers from abandonment and coldness. Yet amid this sorrow, Jesus makes a request—to Padre Pio, and to us: a call for souls willing to offer themselves in reparation, to console His wounded Heart. This letter offers a rare and intimate look into the sorrow of Christ and the mission He entrusted to one of His most faithful servants.
