Today I look at the effects of the recent week-long freeze on my Dicksonia Antarctica tree ferns (multiple lows around -3 to -5 degrees C, daytime temperatures just above freezing and savage winds at either end!). They’ve definitely taken a battering but all is not lost and the plants should come back just fine in Spring. I also discuss my top tip to reduce tree fern crown narrowing - leaving the fronds on for a couple more months before chopping them off.
