In February 2018, Thomas Hartley boarded the cargo ship ATLANTIC DUCHESS for what should have been a routine 90-day voyage across the North Atlantic. He was a father trying to provide for his seven-year-old daughter Emma, an electrician-turned-sailor who'd never been to sea before.

Then, on February 3rd at 10:33 PM, every speaker on the ship began broadcasting a voice that shouldn't exist. A choir of drowned men, singing an old hymn. "Abide with me; fast falls the eventide..."

What Thomas discovered in the cargo hold—an ancient radio from the S.S. COVENANT, a ship that sank in 1952 with all 47 crew members—opened a door that should have stayed closed. He touched something at the bottom of the ocean. And it touched him back.

This is the documentary that psychiatrist Dr. Anne Fletcher spent six years trying not to believe. These are the crew testimonies that maritime historians can't explain. This is the story of Captain Ernst Winters, who's been dead for 72 years but still sails his ship through waters that exist beneath our reality.
This is the story of the ocean beneath the ocean. Where drowned ships sail forever. Where the dead sing hymns to call the living home. Where every sailor's name is already written in the log, waiting.

Thomas Hartley doesn't think he's crazy. He thinks he's already dead. And after hearing his account, Dr. Fletcher started hearing the singing too.

Three years later, she drowned. They found saltwater in her lungs. She died in a river.
