Описание:

Lesson on the Fluoroquinolone (Quinolone) antibiotics ciprofloxacin vs. levofloxacin vs. moxifloxacin. Fluoroquinolones include the antibiotics with the suffix -floxacin. Earlier generations of quinolones have activity against gram negative bacteria, whereas later generations have additional activity against gram positive bacteria and anaerobes. The mechanism of action is similar amongst all fluoroquinolones, whereby they target 2 specific bacterial enzymes involved in bacterial DNA synthesis, causing DNA damage and bacterial cell death. Fluoroquinolone use can cause a variety of adverse reactions, with some of these reactions preventing their use in children and pregnant women.
