How IMU Stole the Five Elders' HAKI | One Piece Theory

In this video, I explore the idea that Imu didn’t just empower the Five Elders—but stole their Haki by replacing something fundamental inside them.

This theory argues that Imu’s Covenant freezes the soul, suppresses personal will, and creates a vacancy where independent Haki used to exist. Under this framework, the Five Elders can no longer generate Haki on their own. Their bodies are preserved, but their will is stalled. The power they wield isn’t theirs anymore—it’s Imu’s will occupying the space their own once filled.

The video breaks down how the Covenant operates in layers, why the Elders’ regeneration behaves like a reset rather than true healing, and how this explains their uniform behavior and lack of individual expression. It also examines early cracks in the system through characters like Gunko, suggesting that memory, pain, and emotional bonds can disrupt Imu’s control.

Finally, the theory connects this mechanism to One Piece’s long-running symbolism of ice, stagnation, and frozen time—from Little Garden to the frozen Straw Hat in Mary Geoise. Imu isn’t trying to destroy the world. Imu is trying to stop it from moving.
