Ferdinando (Nando) Taviani, Italian professor of theatre history, was literary advisor at Odin Teatret since the early 1970s.
He met Odin in 1970 after seeing the performance "Ferai" in Rome, organised the five months stay of Odin in Carpignano Salentino in 1974, and wrote the first book in Italian about Odin Teatret: "Il Libro dell'Odin" published by Feltrinelli in 1975.
He founded, with Eugenio Barba and other scholars, the ISTA (International School of Theatre Anthropology) in 1980.
Nando passed away on November 4th, 2020 and this video is our tribute to him.
