Up at 3:30am and a 1.5 hour drive brought me to Auchmithie Beach on Scotland’s east coast to capture a sunrise I’ll never forget. Using long exposures, I smoothed the waves into soft mist and watched the colours transform the seascape. I also explored the old harbour, the dramatic sea stack known as “The Rock”, and a natural sea arch, each adding to the magic of the morning. The reward was unforgettable.
