Today, I’m taking you to Cordes-sur-Ciel, one of France’s most beautiful villages, nestled high in the hills of Occitanie, in the Tarn department of southern France. Even on a cloudy day, this magical place feels like it’s floating above the world — and that’s no coincidence. Its name literally means “Cordes above the sky.” ☁️🏰

Built in the 13th century during the Albigensian Crusade, Cordes-sur-Ciel is a fortified bastide known for its steep cobbled lanes, gothic architecture, and breathtaking views over the valley. Once a haven for artists and thinkers, this medieval village is a living storybook of southern France.

In this video, I’ll take you on a slow travel walk through its hidden alleyways, past ancient fortified gates, and up to scenic points that feel like they're above the clouds.
