N5 Japanese Listening Practice | Everyday Dialogue with Furigana
Welcome to our Japanese learning series! This video is designed for N5-level students who want to practice real-life conversational Japanese.
In this long and detailed dialogue, Maria, a foreign patient, visits Dr. Tanaka for a stomach ache. They discuss the cause (sashimi!), daily routine, and the doctor gives clear instructions on how to take the medicine and when to return. This video is great for practicing time, numbers, and descriptive adjectives!

Key Vocabulary:
お腹[なか] (onaka): Stomach, belly.
医師[いし] (ishi): Doctor (formal term, often used instead of 先生[せんせい] in writing).
刺身[さしみ] (sashimi): Sliced raw fish (Japanese term for raw fish dish).
多分[たぶん] (tabun): Probably, perhaps (N5 adverb for expressing likelihood).
原因[げんいん] (gen'in): Cause, origin (used in the Q&A section).
一錠[いちじょう] (ichijō): One tablet/pill (counter for small objects).
予約[よやく] (yoyaku): Reservation, appointment.
お大事[だいじ]に (o-daiji ni): Take care of yourself (a set phrase used by doctors/nurses).
Key Grammar:
〜かもしれません (~kamoshiremasen): Maybe/Perhaps. Used to express possibility or probability. (e.g., 合わなかったかもしれません - Perhaps it didn't agree with you).
〜に〜を触[さわ]ります (~ni ~o sawarimasu): The particle を marks the object being touched, and に marks the place where the action occurs. (e.g., お腹を触りますね - I'm going to touch your stomach).
〜が多[おお]い (~ga ooi): Used to express that there is "a lot of" something. (e.g., 仕事が多いです - There is a lot of work).
[Time]から痛[いた]いです ([time] kara itai desu): から is used to indicate the starting point in time ("since").
[Time]の後[あと] ([time] no ato): After a specific event/meal. (e.g., 夕食の後 - After dinner).
