Lyme disease is a bacterial infection you get from the bite of an infected tick. Untreated Lyme disease can produce a wide range of symptoms, depending on the stage of infection. These include fever, rash, facial paralysis, and arthritis. At first, Lyme disease usually causes symptoms such as rash, fever, headache, and fatigue. Approximately 427,000 new cases of chronic Lyme disease are diagnosed every year in the United States. Scientists believe that 2 million people suffer from post-treatment of tick-borne illnesses.
