Pugneys Country Park Located in Wakefield West Yorkshire is a haven for wildlife and the perfect place for a family day out. The leafy woodland is perfect for exploring, the sloping fields are an ideal picnic spot, and the well-maintained paths mean that walkers, joggers and cyclists of all ages and abilities can enjoy the views across the 100-acre central lake.
Pugneys’ second, smaller, lake is a Local Nature Reserve overlooked by two bird hives, allowing visitors to get a glimpse of the wildlife teeming about the site.
Kids will love the park’s Blown Away Adventure trail. Based on the charming children’s book by local author Conrad Burdekin, there’s loads of activities to do, including puzzles, counting, a zipline, and lots more. For the truly adventurous, there’s also a pirate adventure playground!
