Pt. 2 Buying Gems Pakistani Style - AWARENESS ABOUT STONE

Behold! This is Part 2 of AWARENESS ABOUT STONE, a small reality-t.v. styled documentary about Khurshid Khan, a famous Pakistani soap opera actor and gem dealer. He's often referred to as the Pakistan Borat.

In this video, Khan begins his second day of the weekend at a budget hotel located up the road from the a world famous marketplace for gemstones from around the world. Like many international gem hustlers, Khan travels from Bangkok to Chanthaburi, known as the "City of Gems", almost every weekend while in Thailand. Many gem lovers make the commute each weekend, sometimes for decades at a time. Others come just for a weekend or two before returning back to their home country.

Despite bargaining hard, Khan doesn't actually buy any stones during his day at a buyer's table in Chanthaburi. In this video, several tactics employed by gem dealers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and other countries are revealed to show an insider look at how the gem business works in Eastern Thailand.
