MATCHBOX Restoration No.40a Bedford Tipper Truck 1957

What a cute truck! A simple little model with only 3 parts, 6 wheels and 2 axles. Produced in 1957 (5 years before I was born), this is a fine example of the basic style of vehicle available from Matchbox at that time.
These little toys were what made Matchbox become so popular with the children of the day. A small sized model for small hands, a tipper body with an opening tailgate to add play value in the sandpit. Kids could pretend that they were overseeing a major building project and would make all the noises of a busy building site, whilst pushing their tiny trucks, cranes and diggers around! - Thankyou Matchbox, for making our childhood fun and memorable!
