The train departed around 1 AM from Udaipur — a city that holds a special place in my heart. With a heavy backpack and a sleepy station behind me, I said goodbye to a friend heading on his own journey, and stepped into my own solo ride. The first few hours felt like any other peaceful trip — chai, window views, and those classic Indian train vibes.
But this wasn’t just any normal journey.
By the end of this trip, something happened that turned it into one of the most horrifying travel experiences of my life.
