Job wants to try his case (Job 23:1-7) because if God heard him, He would acquit him of the charges (v7). Do we really want that (v14)? There are some things that should be judged harshly (Job 24:1-12) as Job's friends have accused him. They are those who walk in darkness (Job 24:13-17), yet God sustains their life in darkness (Job 24:22). Job is not walking in darkness (Job 23:17), and going through this, but wicked people all around them are thriving (Job 24:25).
