I guess I owe Philips an apology for laying the cheese gears blame solely at their feet...
Repair of a lovely 1989 Sony Discman that someone had previously had an awkward go at. A really nice partner to the WM-190 walkman I repaired previously. US market had a model called the D-25 / D-25S which is the same. The mechanism was used in a few models, such as the D-150 / D-15 too.

The gears apparently fit a range of models - just look on ebay for your model and 'gears' and you'll likely find them. Same for the Molycote lubricant.
