Method 1: Reset via Settings
If you can still access the Settings app, you can reset your iPhone by erasing all content and settings. It's a simple and straightforward process.
Method 2: Reset via iTunes
If you can't access the Settings app, use iTunes.
Install and open iTunes, then connect your iPhone.
Put your iPhone 5s into recovery mode by pressing and holding the Top and Home buttons until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
iTunes will prompt you to update or restore your device. Select "Restore."
iTunes will download the latest firmware and begin the restore process.
After a few moments, you should see the "Hello" screen, indicating the reset is complete.
Method 3: Reset via ReiBoot
If you're having trouble with iTunes, you can use ReiBoot as an alternative.
Download and install ReiBoot on your laptop.
Connect your iPhone and put it into recovery mode.
Click on "Reset" at the bottom, then select "Factory Reset."
Download the firmware, then start the repair process.
After the process is complete, you can set up your iPhone with a new passcode or skip it for later. Your iPhone will be refreshed and back to the home screen.
Bonus Method: Reset via Find My
You can also reset your iPhone 5s remotely using Find My.
Use the web version on iCloud.com or the Find My app.
Open the Find My app, tap "Devices" at the bottom, select your device, swipe up, and tap "Erase This Device."
Follow the prompts and enter your Apple ID password to erase your iPhone remotely.
