DJ Akademiks shed light on the cancellation of NBA YoungBoy’s highly anticipated Chicago show. According to Akademiks, YoungBoy and his team were fully prepared to perform, even ready to comply with heightened security measures. However, the United Center abruptly canceled the event just two days before the show, citing safety concerns. The cancellation was not YoungBoy’s decision, and contractually, he was entitled to full payment, including his performance fee and reimbursement for travel and production expenses. Akademiks suggested the real reason behind the cancellation was the tense atmosphere in Chicago, fueled by potential gang rivalries and fears of violence breaking out during the concert. While YoungBoy himself was not viewed as a threat, the presence of affiliated groups and the risk of fans bringing weapons made the venue uncomfortable.
