In this video, I talk you through the steps in restoring your own diecast models using Matchbox's 1978 to 1984 Ford Escort RS2000.

I've covered the RS2000 previously, restoring one of the 'Seagull Gliding Club' versions. In that video, I covered all of the history of the model and the real Escort, so I decided to take this opportunity to describe my methods and break down the process piece by piece. Hopefully this will help to inspire you to get stuck in and try a diecast restoration or custom for yourself.

This Escort had been modified by a former owner who had given it some taillights, white wheels, and a sun strip. These didn't look too bad in fairness! However, having obtained some more truly brilliant reproduction stickers from Screen Print Digital on eBay, I just had to put it back to factory spec.
