I was contacted about a family whose backyard hadn’t been touched in years — it was completely overgrown and unusable. As I looked into it, I discovered the dark history:
The previous homeowner intentionally set the house on fire… and died while fleeing the scene, crashing into a tree. The current family had inherited more than just an overgrown yard — they inherited the trauma tied to it. When I arrived, it was clear this yard hadn’t seen life in a long time. I started mowing, and something unexpected happened — the homeowner gave me a small gift out of gratitude. Then her three kids came outside.
