Data silos and fragmented resources hinder comprehensive analysis, making it harder for scientists to piece together the full picture of climate risks.
Research Infrastructures (RIs) are essential for advancing climate science.
But most research Infrastructures focus on specific disciplines—atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, health or social sciences—making it difficult to respond to complex climate risks. IRISCC is changing this by uniting 14 leading European Research Infrastructures, offering a unique platform to integrate data, services, and expertise from across Europe.
Through IRISCC, users gain access to state-of-the-art observational platforms, experimental facilities, data, modeling tools, and digital infrastructures—all designed to support high-impact climate research and solutions.
How does it work? The IRISCC user journey is simple:
1. Identify a research need or idea related to climate risk.
2. Explore the IRISCC Catalogue of Services to find the right tools & resources.
3. Apply for access through one of our Transnational (TA) or Virtual Access (VA) calls.
4. Use IRISCC services to conduct research, analyse data, and test solutions.
5. Translate research findings into knowledge that helps to predict, mitigate, and adapt to these risks.

With IRISCC, researchers can drive innovation, inform policy, and create real-world solutions for climate adaptation and mitigation.
