James McKenna: The Man Who Forged the Terran Hegemony

James McKenna, born in the wild Yukon Territories of Terra, started his career as a promising but often reckless officer in the Alliance Navy. However, his vision and determination would shape the future of interstellar warfare. Rising to the rank of Fleet Admiral in 2295, McKenna spearheaded the development of the first true combat JumpShips—WarShips—ushering in a new era of naval power. His flagship, the TAS Dreadnought, and its sister ships revolutionized military strategy, proving essential for the survival and dominance of the Terran Alliance.

But McKenna’s ambitions went beyond military might. When political chaos and civil war erupted in 2314 following the Zoli Affair, McKenna took decisive action. With his fleet poised in orbit, he delivered an ultimatum to the warring factions, demanding peace—or face destruction from above. His bold intervention led to the fall of the corrupt Alliance government and the birth of the Terran Hegemony, a new order he would rule as its first Director-General.

McKenna’s reign was marked by both military expansion and political reform. His campaigns, known as the "Campaigns of Persuasion," brought over 40 worlds under Hegemony control, often through overwhelming naval superiority. From the Dreadnought-class battleships to the versatile Bonaventure corvettes, his WarShips became the backbone of his empire. Yet, his final campaign, the ill-fated Syrma offensive, would prove to be his undoing.
