Masters Mile at Whanganui's Cooks Classic 2025

This years Cooks Classic Masters Mile had a few celebrities competing as well as two couples which is quite unique at an event. It was awesome getting to see Katherine Switzer compete here in Whanganui on our newly resurfaced track with her husband Roger Robinson racing in the same race. Local couple Brendon and Bex Sharratt were also out on the track together tonight racing in the same race. Lots of Outstanding performances were recorded starting with a spectacular run and win by Nick Horspool from Wellingtons Scottish Athletics Club in a time of 4.42 with Whanganui's Brendon Sharratt coming in second recording a time of 4.54 and James Waite coming in third with the time of 5.03. The Womens race was won by Whanganui's Sally Gibbs in a time of 5.43, second placing was Bex Sharratt also from Whanganui in 6.11. Vanessa Hodge claimed the third spot in a time of 6.29.11
