I’m out here making super bold claims, but this is the best bike park lap I’ve ever experienced.
It’s steep, fast, technical, flowing and gnarly with a mixture of epic jumps and uber technical descents. It’s everything I love about bike riding and it’s nearly a 20 minute lap. Unreal.
We start off on Fish Bonker, the only single black tech trail the resort has to offer from the top. That doesn’t matter much though because this is a trail for the ages. It’s got a couple of wicked drops to start off with and then the fun begins, steep, multiple line options, more drops, jumping and hopping around turns, chutes and a big old dog of a drop towards the bottom. I love everything about this trail. It’s awesome.
Next up is Doomsday, this is an epic single black jump line that includes, high speeds, transfers, hip jumps, big straight jumps and low racer style jumps, if you like jumping and shredding, this is a good place to start. There such a plethora of different jump styles and berm options here. Jumping from a shark fin into a big berm is absolutely incredible feeling too, I point it out in the video but it's such a fun section it bears pointing out. So many jumps packed into such a sick piece of trail, gotta love it!
Then we have Sidewinder, which is a single black tech trail, don't be fooled by the initial step up and shark fin, this trail gets into the tech asap, it rolls up and down a valley in the mountain, feels awesome fun to ride, a couple of steep chutes, drops and tight turns. It's only a fairly short piece of trail and opens up out of the trees towards the end.
We then join the infamous 5620, Revelstoke bike parks premier blue flow trail, this bad boy starts way up near the top and rolls 14km down to the car park. It's a wild trail. We joined a small section of it here, the massive flowing berms and fast straights are a lot of fun and a nice chance to relax in between the big jumps and difficult tech.
Rolling into Dust Punk next, this trail is a black tech and it's a banger It's steep, fast and fun. Not as many lines to chose from as say Fish Bonker, but the lines that are here are a lot of fun. Dropping into the second half is a sweet steep section followed by a mega wooden feature, a very long wooden bridge that twists and turns as a part of the trail, not only a means to get up and over something. Slowing down towards the end of the bridge I let off the brakes and pull up over some bums before hammering down a rough straight, that felt awesome. The trail opens up a little and the speeds increase towards the end, a couple of fun jumps and we're at the bottom. So good.
Last and certainly not least is End Game, a black flow and the final trail of this incredible lap and a super fun one. It's a wild ride with drops, wall rides, shark fins, fast berms, big jumps and high speeds all rolled into one. It's a jump line lovers wet dream. The shark fins and fast berms make you feel like a hero, leaning hard into them for more speed, they feel like they're built to lean like that on, no skating of the front wheel here. I really like the newer section with multiple jump faces to pick from as well. After that we get to the hero berms and shark fin city. So much fun. Gaining as much speed as possible and leaning hard on these berms.
There we have it, my favourite and possibly the world's best lap, down a bike park at Revelstoke bike park. I hope ya'll have enjoyed the video. The hits keep coming! Love it. So fortunate to be able to ride my bike in so many incredible places.
Enjoy!
