Pecketts First Passenger Train In 40 Years! || Kent & East Sussex Railway Steaming Into The New Year

Today we visit the Kent & East Sussex Railway for their steaming into the new year 2025. This event kicks of the railway 200 events across the country in celebration of 200th anniversary anniversary of the modern railway. 3 steam locomotives are in action in honour of the day including Peckett & Sons 0-4-0 'Marcia' which is is hauling passenger shuttle services, believed to be the first passenger trains the little tank engine has pulled in 40 years!!
No. 25 Saddle Tank 'Northiam' & BR standard 2MT class 78019 are also in service hauling the regular service throughout the day!

Overall a fantastic event held by the railway so a massive congratulations to the K&ESR for braving the dreadful weather throughout the day. 2025 looks to be a fantastic year for railways as we celebrate 200 years of modern railways as we know them and thanks again to the kent and east sussex railway for kicking things of in style...
