In the second semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 held on March 5 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 50 runs to secure their spot in the final against India.

Batting first, New Zealand posted a formidable total of 362-6, propelled by centuries from Rachin Ravindra (108) and Kane Williamson (102), who shared a pivotal 164-run partnership. Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips contributed brisk 49s to bolster the innings.

In response, South Africa managed 312-9, with David Miller's unbeaten century standing out. However, regular wickets, including three by Mitchell Santner (3-43), hindered their chase. South Africa's captain, Temba Bavuma, acknowledged the lack of significant partnerships as a critical factor in their defeat.

This victory propels New Zealand into the final, where they will face India.
