This April 23 session taught participants the importance of succession planning and effective talent management. It is vital to the future of the credit union system for those in people leadership positions to be constantly building a strong bench.
The three main learning objectives are:
1. To bring self awareness to the tenured leaders. They have vast knowledge and they must stop hoarding it. It isn't HR or L&D's job to develop people, it is their role.
2. To learn the importance of having a structured talent management framework in place to support succession planning (Will discuss the 9 box as an easy place to start.)
3. To identify some key components to a maintainable and sustainable development plan for those identified through talent planning to be potential successors.
Presented by Dana Elliott, Learning & Development Manager at Kawartha Credit Union in Canada, this session will be held meeting style - we encourage attendees to come ready to participate.
