The golden light of early evening drapes over Fuengirola as the Feria opens. A warm breeze carries mixed scents — fried churros dusted with sugar. The boom of laughter, clink of glass, distant strum of a guitar… you know that sound: the Feria has awakened.

From 6 to 12 October 2025, the town sheds its quiet routines and steps into a week-long embrace with tradition, music, colour, horses, and pure joy. The Feria del Rosario — Fuengirola’s patronal festival — is back at the Recinto Ferial, the permanent fairground that every year becomes the beating heart of the city.

Key Moments & Atmosphere
• The Opening: It all begins with the pregón (the formal speech) and the magical moment when the lights flick on — the fairground is transformed. The glowing arches, lanterns, and strings of bulbs set streets aglow, lit up like a dream.
• Traditional Procession & Misa Flamenca: One morning you’ll hear solemn bell tolls, see horseback riders in elegant gear, women in flamenco dresses, men in traje campero. The Patron Saint is carried in procession — it’s devotional, it’s solemn, but also deeply communal. After that, there’s often a Misa Flamenca where flamenco meets faith, in singing and clapping rather than hush.
• Casetas & Attractions: 32 casetas (festive tents or booths) open their doors. Each one is a world unto itself — some family-run, others associated with clubs or neighbourhoods, but all open to everyone. Dance. Drink. Food. The rhythm is relentless: daytime full of children, families, local chatter; nightfall brings crowds, laughter, and a fiery pulse. Over 160 rides and attractions spin the air, light up the dark, lure the brave and the nostalgic alike.
• Music & Performances: In the Palacio de la Paz and the central stages, concerts every night, shows of flamenco and sevillanas, humour nights, young bands, maybe big names depending on the year. It’s not polished like a stadium gig — it’s rawer, more approachable, you feel the energy close.
• Horses & Carriages (“caballos y enganches”): At certain times, processions of horses and elegant carriages move through the Feria, dusty hooves, leather, ribbons. It brings to mind ancestral Andalusian pageantry, reminding you how roots still matter here.

What It Feels Like
• A tapestry of sound: footsteps on gravel, laughter, flamenco guitar, children’s shrieks from the rides, the “¡olé!” from someone impressed.
• A riot of colour: reds, blacks, polka dots, sequins, flowers in hair; stall decorations, lights blinking; horses decked out; flags waving.
• Edges of the night where things blur: people dancing under strings of lights; strangers sharing tapas; the air thick with joy and heat and maybe a little smoke from BBQs.
• The comfort of tradition, but also something communal and spontaneous — you never know who you’ll bump into, what dance you’ll be pulled into, or what new flavour you’ll decide to try.

What’s New & Special for 2025
• The Feria del Rosario 2025 was lauded as one of the best. Local officials pointed out improvements in infrastructure, more attractions, higher participation.
• This year, there are 32 casetas and 160+ attractions. The performances in Palacio de la Paz drew more than 4,500 people. Big names, varied programming — from flamenco to humour to “noche joven” (youth night).
