Burmese pythons are an invasive species in Florida, causing harm to the ecosystem and native wildlife. Not only do pythons compete with native species for food, but they also will eat them. They have been known to eat birds, racoons, deer, and even alligators. Today, Chris, Kevin and I are teaming up with python hunter Donna Kalil, to see if we can catch and remove any of these invasive snakes...
For everybody asking why we hand capture- Hand capturing is the best way to capture these snakes. Shooting snakes from a distance results in the injured animal escaping, and likely not dying anyway., It is also inhumane; the brain is such a small target, you are very unlikely to make a kill shot even at a close range. All snakes are hand captured, and humanely euthanized later.
