Tracey's Centurion D5 gate motor broken open and the parts was stolen from the gate motor.
Tracey searched the internet and found Smart gates on Youtube and exactly knew, that she wanted Smart Gates to install her replacement Centurion D6 Smart sliding gate motor.
Smart Gates supplied the complete gate motor system.

The left overs of the gate motor was removed and the steel platform was inspected.
It was found that the steel plat form needed some extra welding on certain areas.
The steel platform was welded down properly and a extara steel bracket was welded onto the side.
Smart Gates then assembled the gate motor, weld the gate motor steel base plate onto the steel platform, and re welded the steel gate rail into position onto the steel sliding gate.

The gate motor was bolted down into position by using all the supplied steel bolts, nuts, washers etc.
When the gate motor is bolted down, the anti theft bracket ears are also bolted down at the same time. With the gate motor in place, one could weld the steel rack into position.
The steel gate rail was welded into position and steel angle brackets in 40x40x3mm size were used at a spacing of 500mm.

The Centurion D6 Smart sliding gate motor is a 24 volt system, which can handle steel sliding gates up to 600kg in weight. These gate motors can also run steel sliding gates up to a speed of 38 meters per minute.
in order to achieve this speed, plenty of force is exerted on the steel rack, and as such, the steel rack should be well supported with steel angle brackets, not extending beyond 500mm apart from each bracket.
This is why Nylon rack/ Razz Rack should not be used with Centurion D6 Smart sliding gate motor systems.

The spacing between the gate motor pinion gear and steel rack is very important to prevent slippage.

The Centurion D6 Smart sliding gate motor has been build to operate 250 000 cycles, thus the life span of the Centurion D6 Smart sliding gate motor is between 15 to 20 years.
