Tiny Owl, Big Attitude | Pygmy Owl Preening Break

Spotted a fierce little featherball today — the Northern Pygmy Owl!
Barely the size of a robin, but with the attitude of a hawk twice its size.

This tiny predator paused for a grooming break, showing off:
🟡 Those piercing yellow eyes
🟡 Needle-sharp talons
🟡 A surprisingly narrow tail
🟡 And a whole lot of confidence

Northern Pygmy-Owl is very small,it is the second-smallest owl in North America, and only the Elf Owl is smaller.
Northern Pygmy-Owl is about 6 to 7 inches long and weighs 2.1 to 2.5 ounces.
The pygmy owl has a relatively long and narrow tail for an owl.
The long tail of the Northern Pygmy-Owl is a key adaptation that aids in maneuverability and balance.
