"Everyday I Write the Book" by Elvis Costello and The Attractions off of the "Punch the Clock" album which came out in 1983 and featured the great, R&RHoF inductee, Bruce Thomas on bass.
I've been wanting to re-do this one for a while now and was originally going to use my Spector Legend (the sunburst bass), but I'd just gotten this and couldn't resist. It's a Westbury Track 2 bass from the late 70's-early 80's and it's in near perfect condition. While I've heard people describe their necks as "chunky", it plays very nice and I love it. The Dimarzio, precision-style p/u is located a bit closer to the bridge than it would be on a regular Precision and I think it makes a big difference in the sound. I'll be honest, the reason I got this bass was because an old friend, Andy Morgese, had a two p/u model of this bass (Track 4) when we were in high school and I always thought it was cool... that, and I really loved the pick-guard. Not the best reasons to buy an instrument, but I got lucky.
