This year’s Swanage Railway ‘Autumn Steam Gala’ featured a very strong Southern theme with six locomotives that all worked on the Southern Region, with locomotives ranging from 1893 and 1948.
This year’s gala saw an intensive timetable with three passenger trains and a demonstration freight train, with some trains even making full advantage of the section between Norden and River Frome giving for some amazing sounds as locomotives work up the steep gradient away from River Frome.
