Our next guest for our Conversations on Service video series is Gisela Tiongson, a 1986 BS Mathematics graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University. Gisela also graduated with a Masters in International Policy and Practice from George Washington University . She currently serves as President of the Jollibee Group Foundation and has been actively involved with the Association of Foundations, the country’s largest network of non-government organizations and foundations, and other networks.
One of the Programs the Jollibee Group Foundation runs is the Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (FEP) where 30 local farmer organizations have directly sold vegetables to the Jollibee group of companies. In 2024, vegetables supplied by farmer organizations accounted for 50% of the company’s requirements. The Program shows how institutional buyers/corporations can play a strategic role in providing sustained market access to smallholder farmers.
