China JUST ACHIEVED 3 Rockets Launch Record in Just 19 Hours, Better than NASA & SpaceX...
China’s progress in its space program cannot be underestimated. The country continues to break one national record after another, and its latest achievement may be one of the most impressive yet. So—what exactly have they accomplished?
China is keeping up its rapid pace in the space frontier. The country just pulled off three Long March rocket launches in under 19 hours — a new national record for launch cadence.
Those back-to-back-to-back liftoffs also bumped China’s orbital-launch total for 2025 to 83, extending yet another record. For comparison, the previous yearly high was 68, set just last year.

The whirlwind started on Monday (Dec. 8) at 5:11 p.m. EST, when a Long March 6A lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern China. That mission successfully delivered a batch of broadband satellites to low Earth orbit for the Guowang (“national network”) megaconstellation. Ahead of launch, the 6A team ran a special review of all systems — winter in Taiyuan brings harsh, low-temperature conditions — and coordinated with the launch site to add extra cold-weather protections to keep everything running smoothly.
A few hours later, at 10:41 p.m. EST Monday, a Long March 4B roared off the pad at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert, carrying the classified Yaogan 47 spacecraft. Despite severe cold and strong winds, the mission went ahead as planned. Yaogan satellites are military in nature, though China keeps the exact details under wraps.

The tripleheader wrapped up on Tuesday at 10:08 a.m. EST, when another secretive payload — TJSW-22 — launched atop a Long March 3B from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in western China.
All three launches actually occurred on the same calendar day in Beijing, something the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) highlighted in a statement celebrating the milestone.
“This was the third successful launch of China’s Long March rockets today, setting a new record of three launches in one day,” CASC officials said, referring to the TJSW-22 mission.
TJSW-22 — officially the Communication Technology Experimental Satellite-22 — was developed by CASC’s Eighth Academy. It’s designed for satellite communications, broadcasting, data transmission, and technology testing and verification. The Long March 3B that launched it was built by CASC’s First Academy and belongs to the “Gold Medal Rocket” Long March 3A series. Notably, it was China’s first domestically developed rocket capable of being tested and launched in parallel from two different pads. This year, the team also completed a new generation of ground telemetry, tracking, and command systems for both launch pads, helping streamline operations even further.
