A Suspended Forest Nest I Built Between Two Vertical Trees

🌲 In this survival project, I build a dome-shaped shelter suspended between two tall, parallel forest trees—hanging nearly 5 meters above the ground. Made entirely from bamboo, wild wood, and woven forest grasses, this unique structure resembles a giant bird’s nest hidden high in the canopy. The goal is to create a secure, elevated shelter that stays dry, camouflaged, and protected from ground-level dangers.

🎋 The build begins by selecting two straight, sturdy trees standing parallel to each other, then constructing cross-beams and support frames using bamboo and natural lashings. After securing the main frame, I shape a curved dome roof using flexible bamboo poles, allowing the shelter to form a natural arch. This creates a strong, lightweight structure capable of supporting weight above the forest floor.

🍃 To camouflage and insulate the shelter, I weave layers of forest grasses, vines, and wild foliage around the dome. This not only makes the shelter blend into the environment but also provides wind resistance and warmth for nighttime protection. The nest-like appearance helps it remain hidden from animals and humans, making it ideal for bushcraft and stealth survival.

🔥 After completing the elevated shelter, I test its durability, climb into the structure, and spend time resting inside while listening to the forest. Building high above the ground creates a completely different survival experience—safer from insects, snakes, and predators, while offering a peaceful view of the treetops and river wind.
