August 16, 1996 Chris Saunders and photojournalist Jim Blankinship covered the final air show at NAS Miramar. The navy moved out and marines moved in. There was concern that the air show wouldn't continue, but the marines continued the tradition, much to the delight of San Diegans and tourists.
