North & South (Margaret & John) - In my Veins

In this video I tried to focus on two things:

1. Margaret's and John's love. How she has enchanted him with her modern look on things and how he falls for her;
and
2. Thorntons incredibly interesting character. This song might not be perfect (since it is rather about love and addiction) but I still think it works somehow. I wanted to show how Thornton changes because of Margaret. I think the story is still a bit centered on Margaret and her journey in mind (and also her moving to different places) but I love how Thornton changes as well and becomes a completely different person.
When I first watched this series ( about ½ year before I started reading the book for the first time) I somehow disliked Thornton at first. His opinion was his opinion was his opinion. He does what he thinks is right and lets no one persuade him of a different matter. But in the 2. episode I began to realize that this man is totally insecure and that he cares alot about other people's opinion (especially Margaret's). I think it is really interesting how he still tries to keep up the facade. His mother is the only one he can talk to and THEN there is Margaret, entering his world and he starts to believe she will understand him. This is the first time he escapes his usual thoughts and confesses his love to her. And he gets hurt. She has „changed" him and now he is addicted to her. This is the start of my video. She has hurt him but he still can't forget her. I just love how he is thinking. That he is even saving her from public humiliation because he still loves her... Oh man... so... what I was trying to say with my video is... That Thornton is an amazing character and I wish there were more men out there like him. Isn't it just all a big, huge misunderstanding between him and her?
In my opinion this song is perfect for his thoughts, Don't you think so too? It's depression, love, passion, frustration, ...
I know, this is not very fitting to it at all. But for me it all began with North & South. These last 2 years since I watched it the first time... have been amazing and very important for me in so many ways. In these last 2 years I experienced so much. It has not always been good things, but at least I think I grew into who I am right now. And maybe Thornton's love is what makes him become the man he truly wants to be: honest, a gentleman, loving, caring, passionate, a brother, a pupil, a son, a husband, a good friend to his employees.
And, yes, this is a video about love... but I still hope it is also about building a character and standing up for oneself. Thornton didn't give up in the end, did he? This video is still completely different, I understand that, if you are still reading this, you might ask yourself, why I wrote all this stuff.
These are all just my impressions, thoughts I wrote down on my little yellow papers that lay on my desk. Impressions about who he is and what this video should be about. And when I finished this video I read all these little notes again, there were like 30 or so. And I didn't want them to get lost, so i sumarized them for you! Isn't it strange how lost you can get in a nice movie or series?
