NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue’s SICU Nursing Team welcomed back former patient Rodrigo Curbelo and his wife, Simone. Rodrigo was originally admitted in critical condition on April 6, 2021 after surviving a traumatic brain injury in a workplace accident a few blocks from the hospital.
Over the course of six weeks and a number of surgical procedures, he was stabilized and discharged to inpatient rehabilitation, which he completed in May 2022. The Curbelos were eager to return to Bellevue to thank SICU staff for the life-saving care he received.
