Durga Puja starts with Birendra Krishna Bhadra's immortal chandipath at four in the morning on Mahalaya. And it is spectacular to see that thousands of people irrespective of ages come out on the streets in the wee hours in the morning and the street witness a packed crowd. It is probably the unique way for the Silcharities to welcome Maa Durga which we generally don't see in any part of the world.
