Back in the ’90s, the popularity of the Simpsons and Pokémon overshadowed Disney’s Gargoyles. The show tells us the story of a clan of winged beasts who were the guardians of Castle Wyvern in circa 994. The beasts were awoken from their mystical slumber in 20th century Manhattan and gear up to protect the people from threats that aim to disrupt peace. Gargoyles was on air for around 78 episodes, spanning three seasons. The first two seasons aired on Disney but the third and final season was picked up by ABC. The show’s creator Greg Weisman was not involved in the third season’s production beyond the pilot and doesn’t consider the final season as cannon.
