Iraq hangs 36 men over 2014 Camp Speicher massacre

Iraq has hanged 36 people for their involvement in a massacre in Tikrit province two years ago.

Up to 1,700 mostly Shia military recruits were killed on June 12, 2014.

The Camp Speicher massacre was carried out by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), when the group seized territory across the north of the country.
