The Great Pyramid of Giza Egypt 🇪🇬

The Pyramids of Giza are an ancient complex of three large pyramids—Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure—built around 2600–2500 BC as royal tombs for pharaohs of the Fourth Dynasty.

The three main pyramids:
Great Pyramid of Khufu: The largest pyramid, built for Pharaoh Khufu, and the oldest and only remaining of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Pyramid of Khafre: Built for Khufu's son, Khafre. It is notable for its higher elevation and partially intact original casing near the apex.
Pyramid of Menkaure: The smallest of the three, built for Khafre's son, Menkaure.
The Great Sphinx: A massive limestone monument with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, located in the Pyramid of Khafre's complex.
The complex: The main pyramids are part of a larger necropolis that includes smaller "Queen's pyramids," mortuary temples, causeways, cemeteries, and other subsidiary structures.

The Pyramid of Khafre is the second-tallest and second-largest of the Giza pyramids, built as the tomb for the Fourth-Dynasty Pharaoh Khafre around 2558–2532 BC.

The stones for the Pyramids of Giza vary in size, with the average block weighing about 2.5 tons, but some of the largest granite beams in the King's Chamber can weigh between 25 and 80 tons.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a massive limestone statue with a lion's body and a human head, located on the Giza Plateau near the pyramids in Egypt. It is believed to have been carved around 4,500 years ago, most likely from a natural bedrock outcrop.

The statue measures approximately 240 feet (73 meters) long and 66 feet (20 meters) high. It was originally painted, and fragments of a stone beard have been found.

The Sphinx is considered a guardian of the Giza pyramids and is part of the larger pyramid complex, particularly Khafre's.
