Imagine if you would, The Avengers Infinity War with a super sonic speedster on their side? It would certainly put a thumb on the scales. Between the reality bending magicians, super technological geniuses and asgardian magic demigods, people often forget that speed can be a powerful tool. We saw just a fraction of this in Age of Ultron with Quicksilver, the super sonic speedster bred from Hydra. In the MCU Quicksilver is Pietro Maximoff, and instead of being with the X-Men, he was part of Hydra and a citizen of Sokovia along with his twin sister Wanda aka Scarlet Witch. While they both started off as enemies to the Avengers, fueled mostly by a hatred of Tony Stark for making the weapons that destroyed their home, the two switched sides to take on Ultron. During the battle of Sokovia, Quicksilver sacrificed himself in order to save Hawkeye and another civilian. It was a tragic loss for Wanda, but what if it didn’t have to be? Quicksilver can break the sound barrier. He could have easily dodged those bullets and saved Hawkeye. With the speed he can generate, Quicksilver had enough time to process an escape route, and then zip into save someone. The question is, what if he could only save one? What if Quicksilver lived, but he could only save one person from that barrage of bullets. What if it was Hawkeye? Buckle up boys and girls, because we are going off the rails and looking at What would happen to the MCU if Quicksilver lived.
