GOD USES WEAKNESS TO DEMONSTRATE HIS POWER. Message Pastor Mark Hemans

God's power is manifest when we realize by faith that we need Him. Sin is an inherent weakness. If you have sin, it is a weakness in your life, like a broken bone.
You need a Redeemer who is more powerful than you so that you will not trust in yourself but in the One with the power. God uses weakness to demonstrate His power. He became weak that we might be whole and strong. When you look unto Jesus you are looking to Him who is Almighty God, who is all powerful; He is surrounded by clouds of glory and power.
Whatever you think is strong is weak before God. Your strength is not a firm foundation. Even when God blesses you, that blessing itself can become a hindrance unless you give God all the glory. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, "My grace is sufficient for you; for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
In all of life you should be humble and hold His hand and seek shelter in His wings. If you have experienced warfare and had demons attacking, you will agree with me how important it is to be constantly in the shadow of His wings. Seek shelter under the shadow of His wings because your life depends on it.
Walk in holiness without compromise. The carnal Christian only thinks of the physical, but the spiritual minded Christian knows that sin is a stumbling block. Watch and pray that you do not enter into temptation for you do not know how weak you are; we need to be clothed with power on high because we are so weak.
Jesus Christ is the source of all power. Luke 6:17 says that "power went out from Him and healed them all." The enemy doesn't have power; he just has energy. Peter told a lame man, "Silver and gold I don’t have. What I do have I give you." Peter was in a place of weakness; he may not have had money, but he had Jesus.
Are you bound down with discouragement? There is strength in weakness. Isaiah 40:28 says, "the everlasting God is not faint or weary; His understanding is unsearchable." My God can do all things. 2 Corinthians says that Jesus became weak; He was crucified in weakness. We also are weak in Him. Positive thinking is a contradiction of the gospel; it opposes the gospel because the gospel is good news to the weak.
Say, "In Him I live and move and have my being." People will seek you out, and you will say, "I can't help you, but I know someone who can." Never step out beyond the Holy Spirit. Recognize that you are totally dependent on Him. God recognizes our need for His strength. You don’t have to impress God. He knows your sins, weaknesses, and what's happening in your life. Isaiah 40:29 says, "He gives power to the weak and increases strength. Those who wait on the Lord shall rise up on wings like eagles."
Jesus told the disciples to "Wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed and baptized with power from on high." Religion does not give us any power. Power is manifested through humility and faith. Jesus sends us the Holy Spirit to help us in our weakness. You should listen to Him; the Holy Spirit brings to us the promises of God that we might have strength. Romans 8:26 says that we do not know what to pray, but the Holy Spirit will pray through us. Let Him do it!
Ephesians 4:13 says that God is One. You can't separate Jesus Christ from the Holy Spirit; a manifestation of Christ is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. This power is released through intercessory prayer. We need the Holy Spirit to come in power, and He comes to those who ask. Ask, "Lord, send Your Holy Spirit, we pray. Give us strength in the inner person."
2 Timothy 1:6 says, "Stir up the gift of God which is in you for the laying on of hands." Use spiritual discipline and don’t be lazy and apathetic. God has given us a sound mind and love. Philippians 4:12 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Truly lives are changed by an encounter with Jesus.
