Essentially, a makoti is a newlywed woman who has recently joined her husband's family and is still getting accustomed to her new life.
As I interacted with the women and learned more about their lives, I began to appreciate the unique aspects of their culture.
But what really stood out to me was the warmth and kindness of the people.
