Martin Garrix feat. Bono & The Edge - We Are The People | U2 Cover Rio | Collaboration

In honor of the European Football Championship (UEFA) in 2021, a composer always be invited to write a song that will be the official song of UEFA.
It’s a kind of starter, a kind of anthem that is associated with the league and played several times during UEFA and sometimes afterwards.
Originally scheduled for 2020 but completed in 2021, the upcoming UEFA official launch was composed by Dutch DJ Martin Garrix, for which Bono wrote the lyrics and Edge turbocharged it a bit musically.
The song was officially released on Garrix’s birthday (May 14, 2021). As with all of these, UEFA has become quite popular musically. This means, quite precisely, that the instrumentation of the song represents the style of electronic pop music of today, but there is nothing wrong with that either, as a song of this style must be written for an event of this nature.
However, we U2 fans are more in favor of instrumental music, especially U2’s special sound. And since both Bono and The Edge were involved in writing this song, we thought we’d try to make a U2-compatible version of the original song that sounds U2-like and carries U2 features. I hope everyone recognized the similarities between "Bad" and "Beautiful Day" in the version we played.
After the original premiere of the song, we first saw a version processed by the band Achtung Babies U2 tribute on Youtube, and there’s no denying that: yes, we also took some ideas from this version for our own version. But our version is not exactly the same. Then there’s Italian U2-cover musician Edo Faiella, who also shared his own U2-compatible guitar idea on Youtube shortly after the song’s original release. We drew an idea from him too.
Then, finally, our version became the first studio-recorded version to best reflect the music world of U2.
The bass theme is my own composition, I tried to find a theme that and how Adam would play this song if it were a U2 song.
Rio is a U2 tribute band with basically Brazilian roots, formed by André (singer) and Marcos (guitarist) in Rio De Janeiro. As the newcomers of the two members were geographically separated (André moved to Portugal), online music remained. First Laurent (YouToo Drumcover, The Virtual U2 Experience, The Joshua 4 Project) joined and then asked if I would like to join them on bass. I said yes, and this is our second joint work, which will most likely be followed by more. There is a good team spirit, everyone is a big U2 fan and we can work well together. I hope you like this version! :)
