I finally pulled the trigger on this nerdy little trumpet gadget - and I’m glad I did.
In this video, I review the Trutra Pampet, a compact practice tool designed for trumpet players who want to work on finger dexterity, air flow, and coordination away from the horn. It has a built-in leadpipe, adjustable resistance, and silent valves (well, mostly silent), making it perfect for travel, office practice, or late-night shed sessions.
I share how I used it on a plane (yes, really), during long car rides, and even as part of my Eric Bolvin Arban’s routine. If you’ve ever tried to practice fingerings on your leg or in the air and wished for something more tactile—this is it.
🧠 Great for:
Clarke & Arban studies
Air practice & mouthpiece buzzing
Finger independence
Quiet(ish) practice on the go
💡 Not a total replacement for your horn, but a killer tool when you're short on face time and want to stay sharp.
Let me know in the comments: Have you tried something like this? Would you?
Want one? Available here (free shipping on all orders over $50, so add some valve oil or something 😁):
