It’s so nice to play with this setup!
One Pocket Operator is used only for drums and bass.
The other one is for (chopped) samples.
A bit of mediocre scratching with the SC500 turntable.
Mixing the ingredients with the Bastl Dude mini mixer – and voilà!
You got a lo-fi cake! 🍰
EDIT: Because so many people are curious, here is the detailed list of what you see in the video and what sample I used:
2× Pocket Operators – the K.O! (the sampler) in the 33 and 133 versions ("OG" and "Street Fighter").
Cases: By BeatMakersBoutique.
Bastl Instruments Dude (with a bunch of stickers on it) – the little mixer. It’s now discontinued, but the new model is available, and it’s called "Bestie" by Bastl Instruments.
The turntable: It’s an SC500 by the small German company PortablismGear. They also build a slightly bigger version, the SC1000.
One person asked, so I’ll share it with you: Its weight is 198.2 grams.
The sample you hear is, I think (!!!), from an old sample pack called "Loops from '84" (by MSX Audio iirc) that I had lying around on my hard drive . I’m not sure if it’s on the first or second volume, but I’m pretty sure it’s on one of them.
